A Kabbalistic Synopsis
(Lamed, Ayin, Resh, Vau, Resh, Yod)

You can spot a Laurie by her commanding presence, which can be completely out of proportion to her physical stature, as Laurie is often small or slight. Any position of power will suit Laurie, although business is more attractive to her than politics, thanks to the influence of Capricorn in her name. Laurie has a fierce temper, and quite often seems to be bristling and about to castigate somebody or other. However, her temper only actually breaks when there is a valid reason for it to do so. With those who are prepared to work well and hard, Laurie can be very supportive. At home there is no question that Laurie is in charge, but she is by no means unfair or selfish in the way she organizes the family routine. In fact, Laurie has a strong sense of duty to those who are in some way dependent on her.

The Runic Interpretaiton
(Ehwaz, Isa, Raido, Uruz, Ansuz, Laguz)

Laurie is confident in the knowledge that the runes signifying movement, standstill, journey, strength, signals, and flow can assist her. Laurie ventures forth undeterred by the fear she encounters in life. She reasons that since we're all going to die and we know it, we carry around a lot of terror on a deep level. Laurie, on the other hand, is courageous because she knows she won't run out of time or disappear. She understands life to be a continuum. Whether she's right or not, this is a belief that sustains Laurie. Since there is no rush, Laurie takes her time and generously extends herself to the family of man. She enjoys doing service work.

The Numerological Interpretation
(Name value=3, Consonant Value=3, Vowel Value=9, First Letter Value=3)

This is a name that is dominated by the number three. Laurie is therefore very sociable, charming and witty. She knows how to converse with anyone, and puts people immediately at their ease. Laurie stands out at the center of any group of people. She is vivacious and alive with intelligence. She may have a gift with languages, as her mind tends to absorb new concepts easily. In addition, Laurie loves to talk. The vowel value of nine in her name adds depth, compassion, and sensitivity. Laurie is heart a kind person with a generous spirit. She will be most at ease in a career that allows her to use her communication gifts to entertain, educate, and uplift.

Well, that's me in a nutshell. Actually, when I first interpreted it I was quite surprised to how accurately my parents had named me. Anyways, there's even more to me than what you just read above.

I am 35 years old. My birthday is 23 February (you figure out the year on your own, lol). I am the mother of seven children: Kathleen, Rachelle, Patrick, Jeffrey, Phoenix, William, and Dakota. I am currently in a relationship with a wonderful man named Paul. Paul and I are building our dream home "one stick at a time" on the land we are buying in Versailles, Missouri. We have six acres right now, but soon hope to add more. We are living in a shack that Paul put up until we get the house done. We don't have running water or electricity. The water we carry in 55 gallon drums to use for bathing, cleaning, cooking, and drinking. For lights we use oil lamps and a battery converter hooked to RV battery that we charge at family and friends houses. For heat we have a wood stove. For cooking we use the wood stove, and when the weather allows, we have old fashioned camp fires.

Living this way has taught me a few things about myself. First of all I used to watch T.V ALL the time. I can't now unless we're visiting with friends or family. I had to learn how to not be bored. I now take walks on the land looking for wildflowers and wild animals that live on our property with us. I actually pick up a book and read it now, instead of picking up a book and saying one day. I learned how to cook without using a microwave (I think the food tastes better when it comes from my woodstove), and how to make coffee without an electric coffee pot (this took some getting used to!). We will be getting a well put in, but we are not going to have electric lines ran. We have decided instead to use solar power. Not only will it save us money in the long run, it is more enviromentally friendly.

Update: In November 2006, our little shack burned down, well not all the way but at the moment it is unlivable. We will be rebuilding in the spring!
